Sustainable Waterfront Design

6 November 2020 | 15:00 - 17:00

Having the second longest coastline in the world, Indonesia has huge potentials to embrace its waterfront areas with resilient and attractive urban designs. Moreover due to climate change, coastal areas get special attention. IDN Liveable Cities would like to explore further about this topic by raising a question, “To what extent can design interventions by the waterfront contribute to the creation of sustainable and liveable cities?”

With examples from Copenhagen, New York, Semarang and more, this webinar will facilitate knowledge exchange as well as discussion on how to design with water.

The session will be opened by the Ambassador of Denmark to Indonesia. Joining us, Kai-Uwe Bergmann (BIG New York City), Peter Mayntzhusen (Urban Rigger), and M. Luthfi Eko Nugroho (Development Planning Agency Semarang) will deliver keynote presentations, while Sutedja S. Darmono (PT. Jababeka, Tbk.) and Sonny Sutanto (SSA) will give their commentaries. This webinar will be moderated by Wiwi Tjiook (IDN Liveable Cities).

The webinar is FREE of charge, but for those who need an e-certificate, there is an administration handling fee of IDR 50.000,-. Donations are also welcome. Further information will be explained by e-mail.
